Canton of Bern: Transfer vaccinations with ease from “VacMe” to the EPR straight away
Around 800,000 Bernese residents can now easily transfer their vaccinations from the VacMe platform to the electronic patient record (EPR). Vaccinations are then displayed in the vaccination module. Invitations will be sent out in stages by SMS from 6 November 2024 and will remain valid until the end of February 2025.
As stated in its press release by the Canton of Bern’s Department of Health, Social Affairs and Integration (GSI), the cantonal vaccination platform VacMe is being discontinued. The platform developer DV-Bern has offered the option of transferring data to a new platform. Vaccinations can also be saved in the EPR. Around 800,000 Bernese residents are being contacted by SMS in stages. The timeframe for transmission and storage will last until the end of February 2025.
The GSI, DV-Bern and Sanela have specially designed a process to guide users step-by-step through the data transfer process. The process can be launched on the VacMe platform. Anyone who does not yet have an EPR can set up a fully digital EPR free of charge during the Sanela process.
Vaccination data in the EPR: structured data, always at hand
Vaccination data are uploaded to the EPR in a structured manner. They are clearly displayed in the vaccination module. This means that the digital vaccination certificate is always at hand in a practical PDF format. Further vaccinations can be entered either by health professionals or by you individually. If the EPR is linked to the new vaccination platform of DV-Bern, all new vaccinations booked via the platform are automatically transferred to the EPR.
We recommend that you quickly transfer your vaccination data to the EPR, add other relevant documents relating to your own health and grant the desired access rights. In an emergency, health professionals can easily access vital information in the EPR.
